For fans of Cate Lebon, Women, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Lætitia Sadier, Brigitte Fontaine… Originally from France and based in Montreal for over a decade, Hélène Barbier sings in English and French over aggressively anti-complicated avant-pop melodies. Surrounded by talented musicians whom she knows to be allergic to tired chords and unnecessary filler, she creates happy imbalances by juxtaposing simple yet disconcerting notes that form the basis of a complex style. Hélène Barbier announces her return with the lead single “Lapin”, a taste of her third album “Panorama” scheduled for release on November 14, 2025 via Bonsound.
