Lino is the stage name of rapper Gaëlino M'Bani, born in Brazzaville, Congo, in 1974, who in 1992 founded the innovative French rap group Ärsenik with his brother Calboni M'Bani. Ärsenik created a raw and uncompromising hip-hop, featuring hardcore beats and melodies inspired by traditional African and Arabic music, all punctuated by socially and politically committed lyrics, delivered with aggressive rapping, notably addressing the struggles of disadvantaged classes in France. The group's two albums, "Quelques Gouttes Suffisent..." (1998) and "Quelque Chose à Survécu..." (2002), both charted in the Top 10 in France. Ärsenik also took part in the Franco-African hip-hop fusion group Bisso Na Bisso, formed in 1999 and which released two albums that year, as well as the Noyau Dur collective, whose self-titled album was released by Because Music in 2005.
