**Maria BC, in Paris for the first time!**

Originally from Ohio and now based in Oakland, California, Maria BC has spent several years developing a singular body of work at the crossroads of experimental folk, ambient, and indie rock. Driven by a fascinating mezzo-soprano voice and arrangements that are as delicate as they are haunting, their universe blends acoustic intimacy, electronic textures, and hypnotic soundscapes.

Following the EP Devil’s Rain in 2021 and the acclaimed Hyaline in 2022, Maria BC asserts a strong artistic identity with Spike Field, their first album released on Sacred Bones Records. Between spectral folk, orchestral compositions, and sound experiments, the album reveals deeply personal songwriting and a bold approach to production.

In 2026, Maria BC returns with Marathon, their third studio album and second release on Sacred Bones. Born from a sense of urgency, endurance, and resistance, this new record explores themes of survival, exhaustion, personal upheaval, and environmental destruction. Through songs of fragile yet tenacious beauty, Marathon questions our ability to keep moving forward in a world in crisis.
