The story
Nerves is a noise rock / post-punk band originally from the west of Ireland, now based in Dublin.
After building a reputation as one of the deafening and most brutal noise acts on the Irish scene, Nerves returned in 2025 with their critically acclaimed second EP, Iarmhaireacht. This project blends aggressiveness and beauty to build a poignant narrative and a sonic progression that highlight the richness of their musical universe and their singular artistic vision.
This EP tour allowed them to sell out their hometown shows, benefit from heavy airplay on BBC 6 Music, and tour the UK and Europe alongside bands like Gurriers, Maruja, and The Jesus Lizard. They also performed at several festivals across Europe and Ireland.
Ready to attack 2026 with a smashing statement, Nerves returned to the studio with Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) to record a series of singles to be released throughout the year.
The first of them, N26, is a three-minute incendiary blast of raging noise rock with techno influences, drawing as much from producers like JK Flesh and Filmmaker as from bands such as Fugazi and My Bloody Valentine. Lyrically, the track is a lament on the decline of small rural Irish towns, caused by the lack of prospects and meaning for younger generations. This theme already ran through the Iarmhaireacht EP, but it is addressed here in a much more direct way.
