The story
Razorlight were at the forefront of the early 2000s indie rock revival, with hits such as "America" and "Wire To Wire". These successes earned them three Top 5 albums, nine platinum records, a NME Award, as well as performances at the Reading Festival and Live 8. Having reformed in 2021, the classic line-up – Johnny Borrell (vocals/guitar), Björn Ågren (guitar), Carl Dalemo (bass) and Andy Burrows (drums) – will release the new album "Planet Nowhere" on October 25, their first body of work together since 2008.
Since their reunion, Razorlight has sold out a headline tour, including a show at London's Eventim Apollo, and supported Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, and James. Johnny Borrell was not content with just being a "greatest hits" band. In late 2023, they recorded with producer Youth (The Verve, James) at Space Mountain studio in Spain. This session rekindled their creativity, starting with "Scared of Nothing", a track that exudes a tense and incisive post-punk energy, reminiscent of the praise NME gave them early on.
The success of this track led Razorlight to return to Spain for a second session to build a complete catalog for "Planet Nowhere". Among the standout tracks are "Zombie Love", "U Can Call Me", "Dirty Luck" and "Cool People". Alongside creating new tracks, Razorlight celebrated their past with the release of "Razorwhat? The Best of Razorlight" and a 20th-anniversary Deluxe edition of their debut album "Up All Night". Razorlight is back, ready to re-energize the indie rock scene.
