Before dedicating himself entirely to music, Leines worked as a welder. He left the trade when songs began to take up more and more space and set out to defend them where they are best understood: on stage. That leap took shape with Blood Sweat and Beers, the album that expanded his audience, took him on tour alongside Dwight Yoakam and The Mavericks, and ultimately secured his place within the American roots music circuit.

Since then, his career has progressed without easy shortcuts. Rob Leines has racked up miles, concerts, and a repertoire where stories of hard labor, bars, broken relationships, and edge-of-your-seat decisions live alongside electric guitars and songs that don't need to choose between country and rock. His music stems from the imagery of outlaw country, while avoiding nostalgic recreation and period costume.
