The story
**Rough Trade Recommends presents: snake eyes + OLDBOY + Crap Stallion**
Rough Trade's monthly new music showcase returns with some of the best up-and-coming acts in the alternative scene.
**snake eyes**
don't be a prick. share the love. no music on a dead planet. let's have a damn boogie. so says the manifesto of brighton grit-pop duo snake eyes.
formed in 2020 in the depths of the pandemic as a creative lifeline, the two piece might have taken the long road to cooking up their debut album, but they’re hoping that the proof is in the lovingly prepared pudding with cash rich, released 6th march 2026 via alcopop! Records.
packed with lo-fi fuzzed out gems that race, soar, and stomp by turns, it’s a collection of songs that have been bubbling away in the practice room and on the road, reduced down to their most delicious and concentrated form by design.
**oldboy**
Oldboy make a rare appearance on the eve of their second album dropping sometime in later 2026. Recorded by Stanley Gravett at Holy Mountain and mixed by Jonah Falco - those that have heard it are using the word 'greasy'.
**Crap Stallion**
London based trio Crap Stallion are an unhinged blend of garage punk and post-hardcore with an appetite for DIY shows - drawing influence from both UK & US punk scenes and their ability to foster community through music. Their sound belongs somewhere between the worlds of Thee Oh Sees and Minor Threat, though they also pull influences from noise rock outfit Unwound and contemporary hardcore bands.
