Saigon Soul Revival

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the band Saigon Soul Revival (SSR) is a dynamic and innovative ensemble that brings the golden sounds of pre-1975 Saigon music (Nhạc Vàng) back to life with electrifying energy, precise grooves, and psychedelic textures. SSR combines timeless Vietnamese melodies with modern arrangements, turning classic songs into captivating live experiences that captivate audiences both locally and internationally. Their sound is characterized by hypnotic rhythms, exotic vocals, and a seamless blend of tradition and the present.

All members of the band are of Vietnamese origin or have a strong connection to its culture and heritage through their relatives and the time they spent in the country. Their music focuses on compositions that combine Vietnamese lyrics and sounds with influences from Western rock, soul, bolero, tango, and other popular genres of that era, most of which were banned after the war. This project aims to revive this beautiful musical heritage of Vietnam, which represents an important cultural bridge between East and West.
