A cult act of the Norwegian experimental scene, SHINING has been led since 1999 by saxophonist, guitarist, and vocalist Jørgen Munkeby. Initially formed as an acoustic jazz quartet, the band has constantly reinvented itself, moving from free jazz to progressive rock before giving birth to its own sonic monster: Blackjazz.

With the 2010 album Blackjazz, SHINING fuses extreme jazz, industrial metal, progressive riffs, abrasive saxophone, and chaotic energy into an instantly recognizable blend. The record established the band as one of the most daring formations of its generation, on the borderline between Nine Inch Nails, King Crimson, Meshuggah, and avant-garde jazz.

Over the course of the albums One One One, International Blackjazz Society, and Animal, SHINING has continued to push its own limits, alternating industrial violence, massive rock choruses, and unpredictable experimentations.

Following several anniversary concerts dedicated to Blackjazz, including a performance in front of 15,000 people at Hellfest 2024, SHINING is preparing a new album announced for 2026. The saxophone, distorted vocals, and signature industrial ferocity of their darkest era will once again be at the core of this new incarnation.

A highly anticipated return to Paris for one of the most unique and unpredictable bands in contemporary metal.
