Following a monumental concert with All Them Witches at the Olympia, SLIFT announces a new Paris date this year today, on November 21 at Le Trianon! The champions of French space rock will present on stage "Fantasia", their acclaimed new album available now via Sub Pop. The cherry on top of this already monstrous cake: the opening act of the concert will be provided by the Parisian trio Grandma’s Ashes.
Each previous album by the luminous and powerful French trio SLIFT, brothers Jean and Rémi Fossat and drummer Canek Flores, was a fantasia: an assemblage of genres and forms that allowed the band to improvise, to develop themes until they seemed to spiral together into space. But, with a certain assumed irony, SLIFT's fourth album is titled "Fantasia" without truly being one. It is instead their most concise and direct record: an incisive saga on how to overcome international upheavals, driven by a band moving straight to the point without wasting a second. SLIFT did not want the message to be diluted by playing too much. They are preparing for a battle they believe we can still win.
