Sofie Royer returns on September 4 with her new album, before/after. In this fourth opus, the Austro-Iranian pop artist and producer wonders if the conflicts between the past and the future are actually just struggles against ourselves. "The older you get, the more aware you become of certain behavioral patterns," she explains. Over the past six years, Sofie has refined her songwriting craft across three critically acclaimed albums. Today, she is a pop artist who peppers her lyrics with references to Fassbinder, David Lynch, and Falco, and who collaborated with renowned pop producers for her new album: Matt Cohn (SZA, Charli XCX), Jorgen Odegard (Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK), and Eli Hirsch (Suki Waterhouse).
