YOLANDE BASHING A unique figure in the new French-speaking scene, Yolande Bashing blends French pop chanson, techno bursts and punk mantras into a bittersweet trance. Their out-of-tune revolution summons Claude François and Jean-Pierre Pernaut to the gloomy party of a forgotten local pub, caught between bottled-up rage and biting lucidity. There is a bit of Bertrand Belin having listened to too much Stromae, a taste for the emptiness of rural France, a poetry of modern boredom that dances regardless. From the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges in 2019 to their notable appearance on France Inter (Côté Club), the duo electrifies the stage: dissonant synths, dancefloor kicks and supercharged punk energy. Festivals and venues all over France and beyond (Nuits Secrètes, Reeperbahn, Petit Bain, Aeronef…) have hosted this intense and theatrical performance.
