The story
The Dresden Dolls announce a world tour as well as the re-recorded reissue of their cult album Yes, Virginia… (Tailor’s Version), available on vinyl, CD, and all platforms on August 7, 2026.
The pioneering "punk cabaret" duo, consisting of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione, opens a new chapter by entirely re-recording the album originally released in 2006.
Conceived as a nod to the approach of artistic reappropriation popularized by Taylor Swift, this new recording reflects two decades of musical and personal evolution for the band.
Recorded in Boston with their longtime collaborators Benny Grotto and Paul Kolderie, Yes, Virginia… (Tailor’s Version) retains the band's raw and theatrical intensity while bringing new depth to iconic tracks like "My Alcoholic Friends", "Backstabber", or "Sing". The album also features guest artists such as Veronica Swift and Jinkx Monsoon.
Since their formation in Boston in 2000, The Dresden Dolls have left a lasting mark on the international alternative scene thanks to their unique fusion of punk energy, cabaret, and theatricality, sharing the stage with Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, or Patti Smith, and performing at major festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury Festival, and Lollapalooza.
