The Lennies emerged from North Kent’s Medway Delta in the early 2000s. Signing to Little Steven Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool label in 2006, the band have released a number of critically acclaimed albums and EPs in the following 20 years and have gained notoriety for their intense live shows full of blood and fire. Distilling the best bits of the Who and the Kinks with a spoonful of Ramones punk energy and layering on a sonic glaze of Beatles infused harmonies, the band wears their influences on their sleeves. There are tunes by the bucket load – all delivered in a style akin to a machine gun totting psychopath kicking open a bar door and shooting the place up.

Garage rock? Garage pop? Mod pop? Punk n’ roll? Many lazy labels have been slapped on the band’s back over the years. The boys have no interest in that kind of classification. They prefer the Jimi Hendrix take on it - that there’s only two types of music; good and bad. Where the Lennies fit is naturally down to you dear listener.
