The Life of Hokusai tells the intimate story of the Japanese master Katsushika Hokusai in a non-verbal performance blending traditional Japanese music, martial arts performances, and digital projections. After a stroke and losing everything in a fire, Hokusai paints with indomitable energy. The sudden death of his wife Koto confronts him with the meaning of his life and his art. On stage, dragons and Mount Fuji landscapes come to life, revealing a bold and passionate painter, for an immersive, poetic, and emotional experience. (1h15)
