The story
The sounds, tracks, and passages of "Power Sucker" are the very reason Young Widows still exists after an eleven-year creative hiatus; they remain masters of the art of creating music where sonic weight and emotional intensity are perfectly balanced. Young Widows has inspired dozens of underground artists around the world with its unique blend of noise-rock, hardcore, and post-punk, as well as its innovative approach. The sound of Young Widows—or more accurately, the spirit of Young Widows—is unleashed with striking force on their fifth studio album.
The power of "Power Sucker" is no mystery. The trio from Louisville, Kentucky, plays their individual parts with a precision and style so recognizable that once intertwined, each completed piece becomes an integral part of the puzzle. The sizzling guitars, rumbling bass, and relentless drums tear through the ground that Young Widows had previously prepared to allow for the most avant-garde vocal arrangements of their career, which now spans two decades.
Beyond their historical achievements, Power Sucker holds the impact and magic of a debut album from an emerging band. After all, it is the reunion of three longtime passionate musicians who once again share their unwavering love for the art of sound. Nothing and no one can take that power away from them.
