Fabio Concato

Fabio Concato (Milan, May 31, 1953) is an Italian singer-songwriter. His real surname is Pittaluga. Son of a journalist and poet and a jazz guitarist and composer, Fabio takes his first steps in the music world in 1974, when together with friends Bruno Graceffa and Giorgio Porcaro he forms the cabaret group "I Mormoranti", in which Fabio writes lyrics and music and begins performing at the famous Derby club in Milan. He is discovered by Walter Guertler, who signs him to a contract for Harmony, a label of the S.A.A.R. group, for which he records in 1977 the album Storie di sempre containing the single A Dean Martin (which achieves good sales and radio success). In 1978 he participates in the recording of the backing vocals on the 45 rpm Ufo Robot / Shooting Star, respectively opening and ending theme of the first mecha television series to arrive in Italy, Atlas Ufo Robot[1], and other songs on the LP of the same name as the series, published by Fonit Cetra. He is also present on the 33 rpm soundtrack album of the compilation film derived from it, as a solo performer of the song Procton and as author of Rigel, sung by Michel Tadinì[2] alias Alberto Tadini, former soloist of the Gens.
