Perotá Chingó is a band from Argentina, originally formed by the Buenos Aires duo Dolores Aguirre and Julia Ortiz in 2011. Emerging as a musical experiment, the duo became an internet viral phenomenon by recording their first video on YouTube and, in the following years of the 2010s, they consolidated themselves in the Argentine independent scene as well as in some Latin American countries, such as Chile, Mexico, and Brazil. In addition to the vocal duo, the group also features Brazilian percussionist Martín Costa and Uruguayan guitarist Diego Cotelo. Inspired by folk music and various rhythms from South America, the duo has performed with Joss Stone, Chico César, Lenine, Jorge Drexler, among others.
