Amidst the organic and vibrant growth of Florianópolis' independent music scene, Tapete Tapete emerges from the diverse heritage of local cultural authenticity. With a soundscape that manages to be simultaneously intense and tranquil, the quartet unites the distorted noise of stoner and hardcore with the lightness of dream pop and indie. Unlike many bands in these genres, Tapete talks about the ordinary with a direct, everyday language — without resorting to poetic abstractions. Their lyrics are like accounts of just another day, by just about anyone, only told with distortion, synthesizers, and weird danceable riffs. Formed by Tui Lopes (guitar and vocals), Leo Antunes (synthesizers and effects), Carlos Vinícius (bass) and Gu Martins (drums), the band began its journey in 2023 and is already moving faithful audiences around Centro Leste, one of the most effervescent cultural hubs on the island. In just a few months on the road, they played at the Florianópolis Cultural Marathon and opened for prominent bands in the national alternative scene such as Molho Negro (PA), Tangolo Mangos (BA) and Cidade Dormitório (SE). After the release of three singles: “Televisão”, “Eu Não Sei Dançar” and “Monotemático”, the band presents us with the album “Premiada Tapeçaria Borges” released in July 2025.
