Eduard Martinus (Tinus) Kattenberg (The Hague, 27 January 1984), better known by his stage name Tino Martin, is a Dutch singer. He is best known for his songs such as Doe wat je wil (2013), Jij liet me vallen (2014), Later als ik groter ben (2017) and Zij weet het (2018). Beginning Martin came into contact with the artist profession at the age of fourteen. He took to the stage for the first time in his uncle and aunt's beach pavilion. Martin began his singing career as a René Froger impersonator. In 2002, he participated in Henny Huisman's Soundmixshow. He sang Froger's This Is the Moment and ultimately came in second. He then participated in the talent show Idols. Because his voice was too closely associated with that of René Froger, the jury decided not to continue with Martin. After this, he decided to focus on his own sound. He signed a multi-year record deal with Studio One. From that moment on, he worked on his own repertoire with, among others, lyricist Henny Thijssen. By then he was a well-known singer in the The Hague region in the group JMT Gents and had a regional hit with Only the Strong survive and gave a number of shows in the Concertgebouw The Hague and in the Paard van Troje. Breakthrough In 2014, Martin made his definitive breakthrough with Jij liet me vallen and he received an Edison Award for his album, a record that spent weeks in the Top 10 of the album chart. The single Toch zal ik altijd aan je denken was viewed and streamed millions of times in a short period on YouTube and Spotify. In 2015, Martin recorded a duet with Dries Roelvink, Plaatje van een vrouw. In that same year, he was back on stage with his own show in the Amstelveen theatre. With around 400 performances, he could call himself the most booked artist of 2015.
