The Viennese band CULK announces their major Autumn 2026 tour, providing the perfect setting for their eagerly awaited new album, "Smogstar", set for release on September 4, 2026 via Siluh Records.

With "Smogstar", CULK open a new sonic chapter: raw, more direct and uncompromising. The band draws more strongly on the sound aesthetics of the 1980s New York underground scene: a world between noise, art, and radical expression. Influences from noise-rock pioneers such as Sonic Youth or Swirlies meet the urgency of bands like Unwound, and are further developed through contemporary acts like julie or Blue Smiley.

This "in-your-face" moment also characterizes the new songs: less distance, more immediate energy that discharges into dense arrangements and eruptive dynamics. Frontwoman Sophie Löw's unmistakable voice remains the emotional center—intense, vulnerable, and at the same time driven by a new sense of urgency.

In September, the band will bring their new songs to the stage for the first time and embark on an extensive tour through Germany and Austria. With their new tour, CULK once again prove why they are among the most exciting acts in the German-language indie scene.
