FRIZZY P & MR COLE

Blending old-school hip-hop, trip-hop, and jazz aesthetics, the duo Frizzy P & Mr Cole leaves a very distinct sonic footprint on the independent scene. With sincerity and talent, they reveal timeless, intimate, and emotionally charged music.

Frizzy P, singer and songwriter, and Mr Cole, composer and beatmaker, met in 2015 in the suburbs of Paris. The former, marked by a nomadic past between London and France, draws a unique vision from her dual Anglo-Saxon and French culture, which she expresses with a captivating voice hovering between rap and singing. The latter, a self-taught artist passionate about organic sounds, tirelessly chops samples that resonate with vintage and boom-bap souls, while placing special emphasis on composition. Together, they decided to combine their talents to bring their project to life.

To their credit, they have a trilogy titled “Ladi Dadi” and a side-project called “The Backroom Tape”. Gradually, through these works, they reveal a bit more of themselves, offering a glimpse into the full depth of their musical chemistry. You will find a solid trip-hop foundation with jazzy accents—enveloping, hypnotic, and wonderfully groovy—alongside often introspective lyrics, where personal experience sometimes transforms into broader social claims and critique, driven by gut-level energy.
