The story
Heroe's music is intimate, sensitive, and hazy pop, which could easily be the soundtrack to life's defining moments. In "failles", his first album in French, Heroe offers raw, sincere, and vivid music, sitting somewhere between Patrick Watson for the organic feel, Terrenoire for the lyrics, and Bon Iver for the melancholy. A record in which Heroe is truly Mehdi: this Franco-Moroccan artist who grew up on hit English-language films and series like Into The Wild, romantic and pop-infused, with cathartic sincerity. Heroe is above all an artist who knew how to take his time: the time to learn guitar at age 12 until his fingers hurt, the time to discover Lo-Fi music, successful rock artists, to dream along with great dreampop bands like Daughter or Angus & Julia Stone, and then to buy his own music equipment to bring his very first song, "Prom Night", to life that exact same night.
Overnight, thanks to a share on the music discovery YouTube channel Inès K, Heroe gained popularity and followers on streaming platforms. He then shaped his live act on Norman stages—where he met Léo Chatelier, founder of the Duchess label—and took part in local music contests before moving to Paris. Success began to emerge: 50,000 listeners per month on his early songs, up to 400,000 after his collaboration with rapper Rxseboy on Leaving.
In 2021, Heroe signed with Duchess for his latest English-language EP "You" and began collaborating with Arthur Lacroix and Marc Le Goff, the two producers of his upcoming album "failles", his first in French "so that people can understand me," he points out. This album is that of a 32-year-old artist from Normandy in love with indie music and imagination, happy to be melancholic, because there is joy in sadness and because one day we will be "happy, but perhaps not in the way we think," he sings.
His track "heureux", released in November 2025, went viral even before its release and quickly established him among the rising figures of French indie and variety music on streaming platforms.
