The story
King No-One released their highly anticipated debut album, The Burden of Empathy, in April 2026. It is a debut as candid and uncompromising as the band itself, guaranteed to resonate with anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, and anyone whose heart has ever overflowed with emotion.
Comprising vocalist Zach Lount, guitarist Joseph Martin, and bassist Robert Gration, the trio blends shimmering guitar riffs, punchy rhythms, and poetic storytelling for a sound that is both urgent and sincere. Their live shows are raw, honest, incredibly energetic, and always memorable.
Frontman and lyricist Zach Lount, who never hesitates to show raw honesty, translates his lived experience into tracks that are as revealing as they are relatable. Take "Transgressions," a confessional anthem where defiance against social norms clashes with the vulnerability inherent in love and self-acceptance. Nostalgia and identity are also vividly portrayed in "Turkey Dinosaurs," where the band traces their childhood along the terraced streets of their youth. But it is the album's title track, "The Burden of Empathy," that forms the emotional core of King No-One's debut. Here, the band's empathy is both a gift and a curse—a force that connects them deeply to the pain of others, yet sometimes threatens to overwhelm them.
