The story
Arfi, public interest journalist meeting with Fabrice ARFI, journalist, co-head of investigations at Mediapart 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Co-head of investigations at Mediapart, Fabrice Arfi is known for his investigations that led to numerous revelations regarding the Woerth-Bettencourt, Cahuzac, and Karachi affairs, carbon quotas, and—arguably the craziest one—the Sarkozy-Gaddafi affair, whose appeal judgment is expected in November 2026. A journalist and author of about ten books, some of which have been adapted for the screen, Fabrice Arfi began his career in Lyon, working on the culture pages and court chronicles of Lyon Figaro, then at Tribune de Lyon before co-founding Mediapart in 2008. Most recently, Fabrice Arfi received the Christophe de Ponfilly prize awarded by the Scam, accompanied by this magnificent praise: « Through his methodological rigor, perseverance, and independence, he embodies today an exemplary and engaged journalism in the service of the public interest. » Far from the caricature of the « unyielding crusader » he is sometimes labeled with, Fabrice Arfi is exceptionally gentle, patient, precise, funny, and full of self-deprecation. Always very generous when it comes to explaining his work as a journalist, he does us the honor and friendship of being a Thursday visitor at Hôtel71.
Every Thursday evening at Hôtel71, a free meeting open to all with cultural or media professionals, to understand our times and prepare for the future. The meetings are followed by a convivial drink together.
