Voxtrot gained international recognition in the mid-2000s thanks to two cult-status EPs, Raised By Wolves and Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives. This rise was confirmed with the 2006 EP Your Biggest Fan, which debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart, followed by a self-titled debut album in 2007, which reached number 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The band's trajectory was meteoric, their impact immediate, and their 2010 breakup left a passionate community of fans keeping their music alive. Over the years, this audience has only grown, proving that Voxtrot's songs have long outlived the era that gave birth to them.
After a hiatus of over ten years, Voxtrot returns with Dreamers in Exile, the band's first album in nearly twenty years, set for release on their own label. Written and self-produced in Texas at Jason Chronis's Haunted Air Studio, then mixed by Dean Reid (Lana Del Rey, James Blake, The Black Keys), the album reveals a more mature and daring band, trading the exalted torments of youth for a reflection on the passage of time, the distance between past and present, and the hope for connection. Both a continuation and a reinvention, this comeback does not seek to freeze a legacy, but to expand it.
Voxtrot makes their grand return with a concert at La Maroquinerie next September 23rd.
