Charles Pasi - Vocal Jazz - Blues - Rock - Soul

Born to an Italian father and a French mother, Charles Pasi grew up in Paris. He discovered music at 17 in a gospel choir, then picked up the harmonica after listening to Bob Dylan and Neil Young. After studying jazz between Rome and Paris, he made his stage debut with the band Mood in Black.

In 2006, he released his debut album, Mainly Blue, which was acclaimed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, launching his international career. He went on to tour extensively and collaborated notably with Carla Bruni.

His second album, Uncaged (2011), recorded with Archie Shepp, marked an evolution toward more soul and funk sounds. This was followed by Sometimes Awake (2014), which received widespread media airplay, and then his signing with Blue Note Records.

With Bricks (2017), he confirmed his international stature, performing at major festivals like Montreux and Montreal International Jazz Festival, and sharing the stage with Santana, Lenny Kravitz, and Neil Young.

In March 2025, Charles Pasi released his sixth album, Adamas, his third with Blue Note. Meaning "indomitable" in Greek, the album evokes the diamond, a nod to his passion for gemmology. Dedicated to his late father and manager Maurice Suissa, both of whom passed away, it explores themes of loss, love, and resilience.

Conceived during the pandemic, Adamas blends blues, pop, and folk, featuring tracks in English, French, and Italian. Highlights include "Garbage Dog" featuring Queen Omega, and "Nino, Cielo e Terra," a moving tribute to his father.

Featuring around thirty musicians, including saxophonist Baptiste Herbin and sound engineer Michael Brauer, Adamas is an album of memory and renewal. Charles Pasi reveals a touching sincerity, bridging heaven and earth, where music transcends pain to honor life.
