The story
IMARHAN: In four albums, Imarhan has become an emblem of the new Tuareg generation, breathing new life into Assouf, the desert blues. Imarhan celebrates the daily life of the passionate Kel Tamashek youth, between the immensity of the desert and city life.
Imarhan's sound reflects their multiple influences, a rare symbiosis stemming from their ancestral Tuareg roots, sub-Saharan African ballads, and the pop-rock experiences of Algeria and the West they listened to growing up. Following the release of their new album "Essam" on the City Slang label, the band will be performing live at Le Dodu in Marseille on September 10, 2026.
"With Imarhan, the desert blues never gets bogged down in the sand. True to Tuareg tradition, these five young men from Tamanrasset in southern Algeria have earned a live reputation with their deft guitars, dizzying rhythms, and collective singing." Libération
SIDIAZ (opening act): The sinuous and intoxicating groove of enchanting Saharan rock: perpetuating a familiar Mediterranean bridge between two worlds, Sidiaz plays a unifying groove connecting their Sahrawi cultural heritage with the roar of a power trio, rubbing their Sahelian background against psychedelic rock and exalted blues. Guided by Salaheddine Zaïdi on bouncing guitar and vocals in dialectal Arabic, this electric combo echoes the great epic lineages of Malian or Tuareg blues, recognizable by its haunting melodies and Saharan trances, its desert breath, and timeless rhythms. It speaks of love, freedom, and hope in a reinterpretation of Black music in the Maghreb and a rock that rides across the dunes.
